ETU's Administrative Staff is Being Strengthened by Artificial Intelligence

A training program titled “Effective Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools in Administrative Work and Procedures” was held for administrative staff at Erzurum Technical University (ETU).

Secretary General Prof. Dr. Ahmet Dumlu, Artificial Intelligence Technologies Coordinator Prof. Dr. İrfan Kaymaz, Head of Information Technology Department Dr. Naci Bayrak, and administrative staff attended the training seminar, which was organized to accelerate in-house digital transformation and increase efficiency in administrative processes.

Speaking at the event, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Ahmet Dumlu touched upon the impact of technological transformation on corporate structures and emphasized the potential of artificial intelligence to increase efficiency in administrative processes. Referring to technological transitions from past to present, Dumlu gave examples from the early implementation of electronic document management systems, saying, “Today, we are at a similar threshold. This time, we have Artificial Intelligence on our agenda. At first, some might say, ‘Is it necessary? What does AI understand about laws and regulations? I’ve dedicated years to this.’ However, as you begin to use AI tools, you’ll see that these technologies exist not to overshadow your expertise, but to support it. They will free you from repetitive, time-consuming processes and help you focus on areas that require more qualified and managerial thinking.”

Following the opening speech, Artificial Intelligence Technologies Coordinator Prof. Dr. İrfan Kaymaz gave a presentation titled "Artificial Intelligence Integration in Administrative Affairs" and provided information about the integration of artificial intelligence into corporate processes, its role in decision support mechanisms, and sample applications.

In the second part of the program, Dr. Naci Bayrak, Head of the Information Technology Department, gave a presentation on AI-based tools, productivity-enhancing applications, and practical use cases that can be used in administrative operations. He explained to participants the benefits AI tools will provide in areas such as document management, correspondence processes, meeting planning, and data analysis.

The training program ended with a question-answer session.
